We always want children to be in school wherever possible. Remote education is not an expectation for routine short-term illness. If your child is unwell, they should rest and recover. We consider remote education only when a child is not in school but is well enough to learn for a short period, for example, where staying at home is needed for infection control or where attendance is not possible.
We use ClassDojo to help staff and parents stay connected. We use it to share important updates, messages and reminders from your child’s class teacher, and we also use it to share documents (including home learning) and photos of learning where appropriate. Families can use the ClassDojo chat function to send quick messages or concerns to the class teacher.
For documents/attachments (for example, medical appointments) please use the school ‘info’ email address. For illness/absence reporting we use Arbor.
Numbots
Used to practise number bonds and basic arithmetic fluency. Families can use this at home to support maths recall. Please contact your class teacher on Dojo for login information.
TT Rock Stars
Used to practise times tables fluency (particularly across KS2, and especially Years 3 and 4). Please contact your class teacher on Dojo for login information.
Spelling Shed
Used to support weekly spelling practice through games linked to the spellings children are learning in school. Please contact your class teacher on Dojo for login information.
Century Learning
Used to support learning and address gaps through targeted tasks and fluency work (used in school and, where appropriate, at home). Please contact your class teacher on Dojo for login information.
Collins e-Books
Used to support reading at home, including phonics-matched books (Little Wandle) where appropriate. Please contact your class teacher on Dojo for login information.
If we are unable to provide our usual remote materials for any reason (for example, in the unlikely event that staff absence affects what can be shared), families may also be directed to the free lessons on Oak National Academy to support short-term continuity of learning.
