A pupil at Newfield Park Primary Academy has reached the highest award in Beaver Scouts after being presented with the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award at a special presentation evening.
Henry received the award at the Hasbury Beavers, Cubs and Scouts presentation evening, where his efforts were recognised with eight additional badges.
The Chief Scout’s Bronze Award is the highest award a Beaver can achieve. It is earned by completing all of the Beaver Scouts challenge awards, alongside four activity badges, and recognises young people who have taken on new experiences and challenges during their time in Beavers.
For Henry, the presentation marked the culmination of a successful time with Beavers, before moving on to the next stage, Cubs.
Talking about his experience, Henry said: “When I got my Bronze Award it was great! I felt really proud of myself.”
School Principal, Steve Payne, said: “We know that children learn far beyond the classroom, and opportunities like Beaver Scouts can play an important part in that. Henry has had to persevere, try new things and work towards something over time, all while developing his confidence and independence.
“Those experiences stay with children. They help them understand that progress comes from having a go, learning from challenges and not giving up when something feels difficult. That is why achievements like this are worth celebrating, and Henry should be very proud of what he has accomplished.”
Henry’s Bronze Award marks an important milestone in his scouting experience as he prepares to move up to Cubs and build on the skills, confidence and experiences he developed as a Beaver.
