Year 5 Pupils Meet Bestselling Author Jennifer Killick

Year 5 pupils at Newfield Park Primary Academy were treated to a memorable visit from bestselling children’s author Jennifer Killick, who introduced them to her brand-new book, Witch in the Woods.

The visit provided a unique opportunity for pupils to hear first-hand about Killick’s journey as a writer. She spoke about the inspiration behind her books, her writing process, and the creative challenges she faces as an author. Pupils were captivated by her stories and eager to learn more about what it takes to bring characters and worlds to life on the page.

During the session, the children enthusiastically posed questions about Killick’s characters, storytelling techniques, and how to develop their own ideas into compelling narratives. Her passion for writing was infectious, sparking the imagination of pupils and inspiring many to explore their own creative potential.

The event was not only enjoyable and informative but also an important part of Newfield Park’s commitment to nurturing a love of reading and writing. Pupils left the session full of excitement and ideas, ready to apply what they had learned to their own work.
