Banish the blues!
Planters - new and improved!
A big thank you to Mrs Herbert, Mr Cochrane and Mrs Little who, along with the children in Key Stage 1 and 2, have given our planters some much needed 'TLC' by re-planting flowers and re-painting them all! An additional thanks to those people who donated paint, plants and other bits and bobs to help freshen them up! Photos below:
Some of our children from Key Stages 1 and 2 created their own treasure hunt for children on their road:
We printed off the letters that make up the saying 'Stay home and stay safe' and asked for some people in our road to display them in their windows. Next, we asked for sweet and lolly donations so that there was treasure to give out to those who completed the hunt. Once the letters were printed, [we] delivered them to the houses on their side of the road. Once all the letters were displayed, we asked children to write the numbers 1-19 on a piece of paper and go up and down the road to find the corresponding clues. Once all the letters were found, it would spell out the saying for them! The children doing the treasure hunt then had to drop their answer sheet in plastic wallets outside our houses and our children would collect them, mark them, fill a bag with a few sweets, write a thank you note to go in the treasure bag and then safely deliver the treasure to each house on their daily walk. They worked so hard, learnt how to work as a team, practised their handwriting and gave something really valuable back to their community at this really worrying time.
A massive well done to all parents and children involved - what a brilliant example to set for our school and the whole community! You made the most of this gorgeous weather too!
